you're a weird flower
(warning: the browser version of the game seems to be kinda laggy, if you can try to play the exe!)
my giftee told me they liked puzzle-platformers, Cuphead and word games, so i tried to make a mix of everything!
i didn't completed it as much as i would've liked but i hope you enjoy it anyway!
there are still a lot of bugs so i'll try to fix them but i posted it anyway to submit to the jam in time
also, idk what's causing that but sometimes it's impossible to click with the mouse on the menus, you can always navigate with the arrow keys, enter/space and escape. it seems to be fine on the exe though (the 2 Mello album in case you cannot click on the menu: https://2mellomakes.bandcamp.com/album/sunsound-collisions)
also also, when it launches on the browser, if it's weirdly sized, go in the options, and change the fullscreen toggle until it looks normal (or do the same fiddling with the itchio fullscreen button)

- fixing bugs
- background decorations and some foliage (bc foliage is always great). maybe some birds or something like that too
- a couple new word puzzles (the only one there is for now is bad and kind of just a proof of concept)
- a dozen more rooms with some new mechanics
- more talking flowers
- a speedrun timer
- a map because why not
- another tileset (meaning another environnement, kinda)
- basically everything i wanted to include during the jam but didn't have the time to!

Really nice game. Love the hand-drawn graphics and the flowers talking. Overall plays really well. Really like the check-pointing so you don't have to start too far back. I did an accidental 2nd loop through a part of the game (one that includes the 3 platforms of buttons where you need to fall in the space between the buttons) and I think I got stuck with a door getting closed even after I had the button pressed.
happy you liked it even though you got stuck! where was the door that didn't open, is it after the part where you drop between buttons you mentioned?

Great game ! I’m not good at platformers, so I couldn’t finish it, but I had fun playing it. It works on my Linux desktop out of the box using Wine.

My only small critics is the word mechanic can use a little bit more tutorial. (I got stuck there without knowing that you can change letter; or maybe I'm just dumb)

Dude this is really good! I really like the art and the animation and the gameplay was also quite good. The camera doesn't have any limits so sometimes you can see outside the level and there were also a couple of blind jumps where you can't see where you are going to land like in this image:
But otherwise I thought the game was great! Are you planning on adding more?
hi! thanks a lot! yes i plan on adding some stuff (i overscoped so a lot of things didn't make it here for now). also i'm aware of the out of bounds visual issue (just fixed it) i rushed the final hours of the jam so there's a lot missing haha. and thanks for pointing out this blind jump, i tried to account for it by placing a platform near by so you can watch what to do before doing it but i'll try another solution
